I seldom write horror stories--especially when they're for children--but this illustration looks Gothic enough that it might be an exception.  Regardless, I steer far clear of excessive gore and violence.  In this one the heroine would clearly be a little girl, and it might play out as a kind of
​"Phantom of the Opera" for kids.
